The views from Fort Point in San Francisco are truly something and quite varied depending upon the weather. We happened to be there this drought laden winter birthday when it was a typically cool and wet day in the city. Fort Point itself is a relic of the past that you can visit free of charge. Someone deemed its architecture and its past were so historical that when the plans for the Golden Gate Bridge were being decided, an extra arch was included so as to protect Fort Point from demolition.
