Victoria & Alfred Waterfront

For our three nights in Cape Town we arranged for a great AIRBNB apartment within walking distance of the Victoria & Alfred (her son) Waterfront.

It's a lively area with arts and craft shops, restaurants, musicians and buskers, ferry and boat harbor cruises, aquarium, tours to Robben Island and Table Mountain, and the new Zeitz MOCAA among several other museums.

Table Mountain is in the background.

As you walk around, sometimes you have to wait while the walking bridges open and close for boat traffic.

Cape Town Stadium is within viewing distance as we walked to the V&A Waterfront.  It was built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Mary, the sister of our friend Maggie, was the inspiration for our trip to Africa.  A then current Fulbright Scholar, Mary was living in Cape Town when we passed through on our journey.  We spent a delightful evening with her at a seafood restaurant in the V&A Waterfront learning about her Public Health program.
