A good traveler is one who does not know where he is going to, and a perfect traveler does not know where he came from. –Lin Yutange

I have to keep looking up names of places we have seen and where we might go.  Here in the Lake District there are volcanoes.  This is Volcano Orsono from Puerto Varas around the full moon.

During the day the beach around Lake Llanquihue was packed with Chilean families.

This is the incredibly beautiful and spotless wood stove in use in the kitchen where we stayed in Puerto Varas.

An amazing place we stayed on the lake was Zapato Amarillo just outside Puerto Octay.

This was their view of Volcano Orsono.

The family home and the guest buildings each had Swiss style sod roofs.

Lavender plantings.

  1. That volcano has certainly provided some spectacular backdrops.

Did the lavender plantation smell as wonderful as I would expect it to?

    1. Those were small plants, so no. A lavender grower close to our rural property has just started some. I will let you know if scents drift by us sometime.
