Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art

These are the eye catching spiral stairs in Zeitz MOCAA.

The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art was a destination for us once we reached Cape Town.  It had not even been open a year when we stepped through the doors.

We arrived for evening hours and loved looking at the transformation of grain silos inside and outside.

The building was more interesting than the art.

El Anatsui has a similar piece hanging in the De Young Museum in San Francisco.  He has long been a favorite artist of mine.

The colorful bathrooms were unique.

Space in the basement displayed not only original parts of the silo, but original art and poster copies free for the taking.

We went back during the day.

The spools rotated.
