Bloody Mary

I had read about the upcoming commemoration of the 80th year of the creation of the drink we call the Bloody Mary.  Top chefs and restaurants were invited in the month of October to share their versions...one each day...in the bar where it had been perfected.

Jim and I purposely made our way to the King Cole Bar in the St. Regis Hotel in Manhattan in late October to have a Bloody Mary...there...at least once.

Jim had a beer, but I chose to have the original creation of Fernand "Pete" Petiot in Harry's New York Bar in Paris.  It was delicious, of course.  Since it was about 2:00 in the afternoon, we virtually had no fellow patrons in the room.  The bartender graciously offered to take our picture with our drinks and the beautiful King Cole mural in the background.

If you follow the link, you will read about Pete, the Red Snapper, and his recipe.
